Meet "Cinco"

Here is Cinco, the fish we got Ben when we arrived here. He's been alive over a month now, so we optimistically included it in the family blog! Ben took the pic himself.The kids have been busy. Sophia has this new fascination with her purses (she has 5, and insists on wearing all five at the same time!:) This self-created costume on Ben is called "The Desert King"?? They both are enjoying our little pool, sandbox and and visits to the library and new friends.

Keeping Cool

It's been in the nineties this week, so we took the kids to this park with water fountains. We used to go there when Ben was Sophia's age, now it is fun to watch them together!

Summer Lovin'

It's amazing what a little blue plastic pool can do for a little girl's spirit!

First Dance

Sophia decided yesterday that she wants to try on these princess outfits she's had for a long while...she told Ben "dance" and he obliged, dear boy.

Red Barn Farm

Despite the hot weather, we decided to return to this farm in nearby Weston, Missouri today to visit a farm we used to take Ben. They were setting up for a wedding, but we were able to see goats, horses, chickens and an ornery looking turkey:) The kids loved it!

Finally a post!

It has been a long while since my last post- but, then again, we have been on a long journey in the meantime. A trip down to Georgia to visit my family & then traveling back west to Kansas- to our new/old home. We are happy to be settling in and wanted to share some pics...a few of the kids on this epic road trips (real smiles!) and then playing in the sandbox (Ben's hand-painted bird houses in the background-thanks Mom for passing on the tradition:)

Happy April

Thought I'd start the month off with some new pictures!I caught Ben & Sophia doing art this week,something they both love to do. Ben wrote and illustrated his first book, too. It's called "Sophia Goldilocks, Grandma and the Monster Robot." :)
