Luis' Easter Photo Shoot

I sent Luis out to take some pics of the kids while I quickly got ready this morning and these were the results- when we opened them, we could not stop laughing...these are, frankly, the kinds of pics I am tenmpted to delete- but Luis had a good point: It's just so them! So, I hope you'll see what he means. Plus, there's Luis' new moped...no comment.;)

Introducing...Pudding & Ruby!

The kids built their own stuffed animals yesterday & have been enjoying them ever since. Ben even put underwear on his bear last night, but opted not to keep them on for the photo shoot. :)
You may notice his (second) goose egg on his forehead- it's been a doozy of a Kindergarten year in the accident department. A chip off the old block- mom's that is!

Spring has (almost) Sprung

We have had the crazy swings in weather these past weeks- including tornados- but this week brought one day of "shorts weather" and Sophie was thrilled to put hers on. It was shocking to see those legs sticking out!:)Ben was honored with an award for his poster for Dental Health month yesterday. We went to the river bed to look for fossils & out for Blizzards to celebrate. Num.

Happy Valentine's Day

Thanks to Nama, the kids discovered some amazing gifts this morning at the kitchen table (note Ben's use of the dry erase baord for an equation) After filling up on chocolate chip pancakes, (Ben said "These are Papa's specialty!" :) they were sent on a hunt for the "Princess-and-the-Pea". Magic.

The fate of G.I. Joe...

Take two kids to the Egyption exibit at a museum and they get ideas...add one very motivated, creative Dad to that and you get King Tutentaco! This creation was made from an old G.I.Joe figure, newspaper, paper mache, and cardboard. I have made many a pinata with my students and Luis has always wanted to work with paper mache, so when Ben said he wanted to make a mummy, well...

Meet Sprocket!

After much discussion, we decided to get another cat to add to our family. We went to a shelter in Atchison and this little boy stood out to us- when Sophia gave him a little kiss, we knew. He has been crying almost constantly since we brought him home, but he is getting more and more affectionate and even follows me now. We are optimistic that it will work out between him and Sammi in the near future...
